Breonna smiles often, and she loves to laugh. Breonna truly loves everyone she meets. Breonna prefers the company of others to spending time alone. Breonna wants attention and sometimes needs help with being patient. Her interests are broad, including crafts, sewing, playing games, sports, etc. Breonna loves animals, peers and adults. Breonna is in 5th grade and participates in a co-op program. Breonna participates in church activities, and she likes spending time with her foster family eating meals together, going to concerts, and just being in their presence.
Breonna responds well with kind, redirection from caregivers. Talking with her when she is upset is helpful. Breonna wants to be heard and she needs reassurance that her needs will be met by her adoptive parents.
Breonna has endured trauma. However, she is working through it by attending therapy and she has been receptive to these services. She is making progress in her treatment. Breonna is wonderfully expressive with her emotions, and she benefits from gentle guidance to help her navigate them. Breonna talks to others about her ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Breonna is healthy, requiring only routine medical care.
Breonna has two biological sisters who are not placed with her and they will not be adopted with her. Breonna has visits and phone calls with her sisters that she enjoys and would like to continue. Breonna maintains contact with her grandparents through phone calls and these are positive for her. Breonna has some contact with her former foster families. Breonna would like to maintain contact with all of her connections who have helped make a difference in her life.
Breonna likes to stay busy and she wants an active family. Breonna is open about the qualities of her adoptive parent(s). Breonna prefers a home with animals and other children but this is not a requirement. Breonna needs caregivers who are patient and attentive to her. Breonna needs an adoptive family that will maintain consistent rules, so she is clear about her expectations. It will be integral for any potential adoptive family to identify Breonna's feelings behind any actions and help her work through any difficult times.
